Undergraduate Study Program in Communication Sciences is the best communication program in Indonesia. In 2023, UI’s Communication Sciences Program ranked as the best in Indonesia according to Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking (QS WUR) by Subject and Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE WUR).

This program offers a variety of courses that produce graduates with theoretical and practical skills relevant to the world of work. The curriculum used is dynamic, adapted to the world of work and society, so graduates can contribute significantly both in the world of work and society.

Career Pathway

UI Communication graduates can work in various communication industries and related industries. There are various professions from graduates across various sectors, including public relations, corporate communication, digital content creators, copywriters, multimedia journalists, SEO writers, social media specialists, and researchers. Students can choose a study path according to their aspirations with four specialisations and various elective courses.

Facilities

Various teaching support facilities are available at FISIP UI, including multimedia laboratories, radio laboratories, and audio-visual laboratories (TV UI). Outside of academic activities, student welfare is also supported by various facilities, such as health services (Satellite Clinic), on-campus transportation services (bean electric bikes), and affordable food at the faculty canteen.  Students can also participate in the Faculty Club of Universitas Indonesia (FELFEST).

Student Activity Unit

UI provides various activities outside of academic activities that students can participate in, in the field of sports (chess, volleyball, karate, etc.), in the field of religion, in the field of state defense, in the field of art (Paragita choir, dance, symphony orchestra, marching band), and in the field of reasoning such as cinematography and English debate.

In recent years, the UI Communication Science study program has been named the study program with the most productive lecturers. In addition to 29 permanent lecturers who are qualified in research-based theoretical studies in communication science, collaboration with industry is carried out with practitioner lecturers who ensure the relevance of teaching to the world of work. UPIC, under the auspices of the UI Department of Communication Sciences, also manages the Indonesian Communication Journal, a peer-reviewed journal registered in the Science and Technology Index (Sinta) 2. JKI is published twice a year, in March and August.
