Asty Rastiya, M.Comm

Biography

Asty Rastiya is a PhD candidate in the School of Communication and Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University, Australia. Supervised by Prof. Matthew Ricketson and Dr Monika Winarnita, her PhD research title is Sustainable Citizen Journalism Practices in Mainstream Media: Challenges and Implementation in Indonesian Television Stations. She has done research on citizen journalism practices in television since 2017. Specifically, on the democratisation of media and information in Indonesia and the disruption of the digital era. She was a TV journalist and, since 2016, has become a tenured lecturer at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia.
