Why us

The Communication Department has the objective of creating high quality graduates capable of working as professional and morally ethical practitioners in communication science and practice, both nationally and internationally.

In the Undergraduate Program in Communication, the students will be directed to one of the following specific subject groupings: Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations and Advertising.

The Graduate Program in Communication has the following specific subject groupings: Media Management, Promotion and Marketing Communication, Corporate and Management Communication and Political Communication Management.

Other than the regular undergraduate program, the Communication Department also conducts a non-regular (parallel) undergraduate program, and an international special program. Graduates of the Communication Department generally work in the mass media, advertising bureaux, private corporations (as public relations or publication officers) or in government agencies.

Admission to the regular undergraduate program is through the following examinations: SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and SIMAK-UI. Admission to the parallel program is through SIMAK-UI and PPKB.
