In the 2010/2011 academic year, the Communication Department opened the International Special Undergraduate Program with the specific subjects of Public Relations and Advertising. The International Special Undergraduate Program is intended to produce graduates holding bachelor degrees from Universitas Indonesia and the partner university in Australia. The courses are held in English, and the study period is 2 years in UI and 1.5 years in the partner university.
The International Special Undergraduate Program is held in collaboration with partner universities in Australia as a double degree program, namely:
- University of Queensland (School of Communication and Journalism, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences) for the area of Public Relations.
- Curtin University of Technology (School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts) for the area of Advertising.
- Deakin University (School of Communication and Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education) for the area of Advertising.
Graduates of the International Special Undergraduate Program obtain two certificates (double degree) as a bachelor from Universitas Indonesia and a bachelor from the Australian partner university. These certificates will be awarded when the student has completed and graduated from the entire range of academic activities in Universitas Indonesia and the partner university in Australia.
The International Special Undergraduate Program, including the part held in Universitas Indonesia, is done in English as the language of instruction, in the lecturs and in assignments such as papers and other written assignments.
Students can choose one of the two specific subject groupings offered, namely Public Relations or Advertising, on their second year (Semesters 3 and 4), after taking more general courses in Communication during the first year (Semesters 1 and 2)
